Bryce R. Levine

Bryce Levine joined Jeffrey S. Schecter & Associates, P.C. as an attorney in September 1997, and was named a Partner in the firm on January 1, 2007. Mr. Levine is responsible for handling and overseeing complicated cases, often involving clients with high net worth, in actions which include matters of complex equitable distribution, custody, spousal support, child support, and post-divorce litigation involving the need for enforcement and/or modification of existing court orders.

Mr. Levine is recognized for his exemplary legal writing skills, having successfully prosecuted and defended clients in every conceivable area of matrimonial and family law practice. His applications to the courts have garnered for clients vast sums of spousal and child support, generous counsel fee awards, exclusive occupancies of marital residences, and various forms of restraining orders affecting both persons and assets. Amongst his many accomplishments, Mr. Levine has achieved extraordinary success as an accomplished appellate practitioner, having written and argued in prosecution or defense of more than two (2) dozen appeals before the Appellate Division of the State of New York involving complicated matrimonial and family law issues. Mr. Levine has been involved with a number of cases that have been cited, or the subject of articles, in legal publications such as the New York Law Journal. Decisions on cases for which Mr. Levine has written appellate and/or State court applications continue to be cited, on a yearly basis, in legal seminars throughout the State. In addition to his legal writing strengths, Mr. Levine has tried cases in Supreme Court and Family Court throughout Nassau and Suffolk Counties, New York City and Westchester County, on such matters as divorce, custody, spousal support, property distribution, child support, orders of protection, contempt, enforcement and modification of court orders.

Mr. Levine served as a mediator for matrimonial proceedings in the Early Intervention Program at the Nassau County Supreme Court, and assisted in the publication of a chapter in the 1998 edition of The Annual Survey of Matrimonial Law from the New York chapter of the American Inn of Court entitled, “Wasteful Dissipation of Marital Assets.” He is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the Nassau County Bar Association, as well as their respective Matrimonial and Family Law sections.

Mr. Levine received his J.D. from Hofstra University School of Law in 1997, where he was elected to serve as Articles Editor of the Hofstra Law Review. His article, “Divorce and the Modern Family: Providing In Loco Parentis Stepparents Standing to Sue for Custody of Their Stepchildren in a Dissolution Proceeding,” was published in Volume 25 of the Hofstra Law Review which has been cited to in a number of subsequent legal publications and articles.
